Sketchy Thursday Challenge

Alright so I am not that great at keeping up with my blog...but, tonight I scrapped for the first time since I have been back in California...well no not really the first time, I have done a few things for others but tonight I actually did something for myself. So excited to share it with you!
This is the inspiration:

For me I would say it did it's job...Now here is what I came up with...I know the picture isn't that great...I am sorry I haven't figured out how to photograph my layouts yet...but I am working on it...The paper is Bo Bunny...one of my favorites :) I Love the bright colors and how happy the paper is...

It is rather hard to see the pictures of my little monster so i am attaching them as well cause you just have to see how cute they are!  Love these pictures, they were taken in Blairsville, PA.  We were driving from Virginia to California and these was one of the stops along the way.

WELL WE MADE IT...

...we made it to California that is.  It was for sure an adventure, and it will need to be scrapped but right now we are taking it one day at a time.  William and Mini Moo did great in the car, and even when we were all tired, cranky, and just wanting to be free of the car we all did great.

...Then it happened...

The car broke down...

Oh wait maybe I should give the back story since I have not blogged in oh so long...I decided that I was going to drive my precious Jeep out here to California.  Then my worst nightmare happened...my baby was involved in a hit and run in front of my house in the middle of the night.  How did that happen?  We don't know cause no one heard a thing...and how can that be?  Who Knows!
Someone killed my baby...she was old, but she was paid for and she was mine.  The insurance company sent out investigators, my family and I were both interrogated (and I mean that) by a PI the insurance company hired cause they just couldn't believe that the car just was like this when we got up!

So that was Wednesday, Kenny (my brother) came out on Friday and we were suppose to be driving my jeep home...ooops change of plans...now I need to run and buy a car...not a lot of time so at this point it was just find something you can live with Misty....So I did...I found a cute tiny little Chevy Blazer...
Not a great picture but you get the idea of cute, and tiny, it isn't really my jeep...but she'll work.  We got here Friday night, and we were out the door on Saturday...

Saturday afternoon we stopped in Pennsylvania and seen Donny...  William was so happy to see Daddy and I was so happy to see my white jeep.  Daddy is going to school in PA at Wyotech, so while he is doing that we are on our own!

By Sunday, the little blazer, Kenny, William, Mini Moo and I had all made it to Wyoming.  Don't ask how we made it there so quick because I have no idea.  We did the speed limit the whole time never speeding, and we stopped a bunch of times.
That is when it happened in Cheyenne the car started making a funny noise oh yeah and we seen it was leaking water from the radiator, so we thought we would just go to the next town and spend the night give the car a rest, we found a place spent the night and thought it will all be better in the morning.

WRONG!

In the morning we got on the road early, right away, we find out the pin leak that we thought we had was really a hole in the radiator and the noise is really the transfer case....now we are in Rawlings.  Nicest people you will ever meet at the Chevy Dealership there.  However they did charge me over six hundred dollars for a checkers radiator.  RIP OFF!  They couldn't fix the transfer case.  By now Kenny is a grumpy pig and we are stuck in Wyoming another day.  So we get the radiator in early the next day and opt to drive the car to Salt Lake City, Utah where we spend the night with Kenny's In Laws....and Rent a Car for the drive back to Sacramento.

I was never so happy to be in California in my whole entire life.

I have been busy with going to school to be a groomer, and I have kept up with most of my scrapbooking clients in Virginia.   Plus I have been working on designing some new stuff for some stores in California in hopes of getting picked up by someone here.  Plus great news that one of my favorite stores that was here re-opened so I sent them some pictures of stuff that I am currently working on.

Tomorrow I will catch you all up on William and Mini Moo...Love to all :)

Pencil lines Sketch...

Pencillines.com sketch...alright so I am totally on a sketch kick...I really can't help it...it is like some sort of sickness, and it has got me using my blog...so I am alright with it ...
here is my take on the sketch...it is sweet baby boy and me at the OBX...The journaling I used is Tim McGraw's -It's your love...whenever I hear the song, I know that it is him singing about love and his wife, all I can think about is the love of my son and how it has changed my life...
The pictures are not the best and I am sorry...I am really trying, eventually I will figure it out.. :)
So happy scrappin... :)

Wednesday Make N Take

Every week at my LSS there is a new make and take. You get a free item and then all the supplies you need are there for you to make a 2 page layout. Which is great if you love 2 page layouts and if you don't well then you can redesign and make a single ;)...

This Wednesday February 3, this will be the make and take...the "sweetheart" title will be your free element, and the papers are Making Memories Love Notes...There will be a page map and the directions to make this page.

Cosmo Cricket Sketch Challenge

This is the orginial...and I loved it from the second I seen it...Because I could see it with the SNORKEL line that I had been saving for the perfect layout...
So here is what I did...I total love the layout...I might have to add a little more of this and a little more of that but right now it is perfect...it might need a few more circles or maybe a few words about my little boy and his "sister" ... The the little girl is my bosses daughter and my son calls her is sister because he can't say her name...

Because there was more pictures then the sketched allowed I made more room for pictures by adding a flap so my 4 picture layout now is a 12 picture layout...I love when I can get a ton of pictures on a layout...
The cardstock I used is cordinations with made it nice because of the two clors and all the pattern paper is Cosmo Cricket...
I am lovin' it...hope you are too.

The only snow fall of 2008...

...I think that what I should say is the only snow fall of 2008 I didn't have to shovel...I wanted to scrapbook these pictures because, it shows that my boys actually can do things...They usually leave the shoveling to mommy, but this time they all went out and did it...I must have been sick.

Since some people find it palatinate that I sugar coat everything I say on other blogs...I think that it is pertinent that I be me on this one...after all there is only one me, and I think that I should be her....

I am not really into sugar coating things...I really like to say them just the way they are... I got this paper from the Scrapbooks Plus Design Team. I am finally finishing up my term...(secretly jumping for joy) It was hard work and a long term.

When I first got the kit, I looked at it, and threw it under the table and said "I will have to get to this later"...few days later I did the same thing...I did this until the day before it was due and then I had no choice I had to do something with it...I have only boys as everyone knows, and typically like boy paper, but when I seen this it did nothing for me...After I started getting a layout out of it, I really liked it...

So moral of this story, even if you really don't like something, you should try it...you might end up liking it after all :)...

The layout is a really simple layout...the only thing I really did was distress it and use ink...I love my Tim Holtz distress tool...everyone needs to add one of those to their tool kit...

Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge

I have decided that I really need to try and blog more often...So today when I was surfing the web and seen Bo Bunny (one of my favorites) had a Sketch Challege I decided today was the day that I would start using my blog for what I orginally set it up for...

Orginally the layout looked like this....

My take was to cut the paper in a bracket shape and lightly ink the edges with a dark brown cat's eye.

Then I took a 8x8 square and traced around it with my favorite white pen (uni-ball Signo Broad), then I did it again so that I had two perfect 8x8 squares.

Then I cut a 4x7 strip of Love Bandit Nuts 4 U, and inked it again with the dark brown cat's eye.

I added 2 Bazzill flowers one red one white, the white one I added a little bit of stickles too, just to give it a little shine.

Here is a close up of the floweres you will see I also added a cardstock sticker from the Persuasion Combo Sticker sheet. and Glossy Accent to the top to make it shiny.

The wording just seemed to work for this layout so perfect...I don't know who said it but isn't it just so very true...
